The Secret Workshop

By now, the attendees are starting to post about the workshop on the various photo boards, and posting their images.  Can I just say how GREEN with envy I am that I wasn't there???  The images I've seen so far are just breathtaking!!  I'm so glad you all had a good time! Big ups to the dads who stayed home alone on Father's Day so that their sweeties could attend the workshop.  Y'all rock!

I've gotten a few emails about upcoming workshops.  There will be one is Seattle in August and Boston outskirts in September.  Both of those are sold out, but if you email me I'd be happy to add you to a waiting list.

Ok.. so... only 2+ weeks left until TSW goes to Michigan!  It'll be here before you know it. 
Attendees: Please please please please (just one more) PLEASE register for the forum.  It's the best way for us to communicate with you, so thanks to those who are already there and posting, and to those of you who haven't, please make you way over there.  We have a group rate available at the Courtyard Marriott in Flint, so call them to make your reservation as soon as you can.  The mixer will be held at the hotel on Friday night at 7.  We will have drinks, and snacks/desserts.  Eat dinner before hand so you can chill and drink with everyone at the mixer.  On Sunday the workshop will wrap up at around 3 pm. 

I wanted to add some of Cheryl's images.  She took these during the free-shooting portion of the San Francisco workshop.

Flint! Flint! Flint!

Phew...

We're finally coming down off the back-to-back workshop frenzy.  As you may have heard from those who were there, Phoenix and Austin were INCREDIBLE! Now we're looking forward and this week will be dedicated to getting ready for Flint.  We are working on finalizing the details with the hotel, studio, super awesome guest speaker... and will give the Flint attendees the information ASAP.  In the next few days, look for an email from us inviting you to our forum so you can start getting to know each other, making roomate arrangements, sharing rides to/from the airport, etc. 

Also, I have a few more interviews with past attendees lined up.  Please check back later this week for more!

Cheryl:  What is your favorite part about being a photographer?

Secret Guest:  my love of creating...I love challenging myself to create something new.

Cheryl:  What is one photography product that you couldn't live without?

Secret Guest:  my huge ass Apple 30" monitor and my Wacom tablet (giggle)

Cheryl:  If you could give one piece of advice to a new photographer, what would it be?

Secret Guest:  that success is 95% failure - hands down

Cheryl:  What is your favorite lens to use outside?

Secret Guest:  135/f2.0

Cheryl:  What is your biggest challenge in photography?

Secret Guest:  employees...always has been...

Cheryl:  What is one thing in photography that is overrated?

Secret Guest:  reflectors.  I have never used one.

Cheryl:  What did you have for breakfast?

Secret Guest:  a stuffed ancho pepper

Cheryl:  Paper or plastic?

Secret Guest:  paper

Cheryl:  Tell me a secret.

Secret Guest:  I was afraid to fly for 10 years...like, I would drive to England afraid.   

Cheryl:  What's your most embarassing moment?

Secret Guest:  My button on my pants broke and my zipper wouldn't stay up and I had to photograph the whole session with one hand basically because I couldn't tell them that my pants were falling off.

Cheryl:  Thank you Secret Guest.  You rock.

Secret Guest:  No.  You do.

Cheryl:  Muah.  Muah.  You are beautiful.

Michigan workshop.

Michigan registrations open January 1st.  Dates for the Michigan workshop--  June 13 - 15.  We have an AMAZINGLY inspring guest speaker coming.   I think it might stay a secret.   You know how much I love those....

Michigan.

I could NOT be more excited.  I kind of want to keep the secret guest for Michigan a secret.  Hmmmm....maybe I will interview our special guest and see if you all can guess who it is.  Let me just tell you....you're going to LOSE.  YOUR.  MIND.  Seriously.   

Registrations for the remaining three cities, Phoenix, Michigan, and Austin will open in successive weeks beginning January 1st.  Flint is actually going to open first, followed by Phoenix and then Austin.  And what the heck is UP with this neglected blog???  Ridiculous I tell ya.  So, I'm doing what any responsible blogger would do...I'm calling in some blogging reinforcements.  I have already given up showering and sleeping and I have no other luxuries left to give up to make more time in my life!  So....allow me to introduce our not-so-secret blogger, my assistant, Isabel.  She'll be sending out emails, get folks registered on the blog, and helping me with details for each of the workshops.  I'm thrilled to have her on board. 

Phoenix and Flint and Austin...oh my!

Well, don't you think it's time to at least *start* thinking about these cities' workshops?  I do.

And the first thing I want to address is my "condition".  It's pretty serious folks.  Not many people know this about me.  But I am afflicted with a very serious problem.  Wanna know what it is?  Deep breath...ok, here goes.  I....Cheryl Muhr....am allergic to.....SNOW.  There.  I said it.  And it's out there now for the world to see.  And I know what you all are thinking already.  Isn't there likely to be SNOW in Michigan in  May??  The answer apparently, is yes.   Yes there is.  So, in an effort to keep me on top of my game and not balled up in the fetal position boohooing over how "cooooold I am" and how it "hurts to even breeeeeeathe" I think....we would be safer to flip flop Austin and Michigan's workshops.  Sound good to you?  Yes, I thought so.  Austin will be in May and Flint will be in June. 

I have also been receiving numerous emails every day asking to be added to the waitlists for San Diego and Sausalito.  I am more than happy to add everyone, but I really just want everyone to be aware that the likelihood of anyone getting a seat is slim to none.  I think at this point, everyone should just try to win a FREE seat HERE. 

I am STILL waiting on calls back from my stalking my many phone messages I have left for the group sales departments in California's cities.  I promise I am working on this every day.
